Description
Elevit Pronatal is indicated in the prevention or correction of disorders due to a vitamin or mineral imbalance or deficient diet during pregnancy and lactation.
Vitamins, minerals and trace elements are essential nutrients. They cannot be produced by the body and therefore must be derived from diet. These substances are vital for daily living (e.g. breathing, digestion, generation of energy, function of brain and nervous system, reproduction, growth), while at the same time forming part of numerous tissues and organs.
Pregnant and breast-feeding women need significantly more vitamins, minerals and trace elements than non-pregnant women. Particularly, a pregnant woman must provide nourishment not only for her own body but also for that of her child.
With a balanced diet and without the consumption of nicotine and alcohol, pregnant and breastfeeding women normally have enough vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Nevertheless, deficiencies may occur during pregnancy and lactation. Throwing up frequently during the early stage of pregnancy may be a reason for a deficiency of essential nutrients.
The consequences of deficiencies can include anaemia and tiredness for the mother, and retarded growth and changes in skin and mucous membranes for the child.
Elevit Pronatal contains all essential nutrients required during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Thus the occurrence of deficiency in mother and child is prevented. Folic acid helps to prevent malformations of the child.
How to use
The recommended dose is one tablet daily swallowed whole, with a glass of water, preferably with a meal.
Oxalic acid, found in spinach and rhubarb, and phytic acid, found in whole cereals, may inhibit calcium absorption. Avoid intake of Elevit Pronatalwithin two hours of eating vast amounts of these foods

- copper 1.0 mg
- magnesium 100.0 mg
- manganese 1.0 mg
- phosphorus 125.0 mg
- zinc 7.5 mg
The other ingredients are:
lactose, mannitol, macrogol 400, glycerol distearate, gelatin, microcrystalline cellulose, ethylcellulose, sodium starch glycollate, magnesium stearate, povidone K90, povidone K30, hypromellose, ethylcellulose aqueous dispersion (ethylcellulose, sodium lauril sulphate, cetylic alcohol), macrogol 6000, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide yellow (E172).
